The Spectre Darts Challenge is set to arrive in Cheltenham with amateur darts players competing for a chance to play against the likes of Michael van Gerwen and Gary Anderson.
All they have to do is claim victory at the 2019 challenge on Saturday 23rd March to take to the stage at Cheltenham Racecourse for The Spectre Cheltenham Masters on Friday 5th April.
Aspiring darts champions can register from 7:15pm and the matches will start from 8pm at The Spectre in High Street, Cheltenham.
They will have to get the better of their opponents across three legs of 501 darts action in order to progress.
The ultimate winner of the challenge will not only be able to play a round or two with the best in the sport, but also receive VIP tickets to watch the action unfold as Glen Durrant, Jonny Clayton, Vincent Van der Voort, Corrine Hammond, Anastasia Dobromyslova and the legendary Bobby George also step up to the oche in The Centaur on Friday 5th April.
Alun Griffiths, general manager at The Spectre, said: “We are very excited to sponsor this year’s Cheltenham Darts Masters and we look forward to hosting the Challenge on 23rd March.
“Some of our regulars are great fans of the sport and we know it’s going to be a fun night of darts with amateur players of a very high standard.”
Lee Moulson, regional head of sales at Cheltenham Racecourse, said: “The Spectre Darts Challenge is an excellent precursor to the Spectre Cheltenham Darts Masters and a great way to get local darts fans involved.
“It would be fantastic to see plenty of locals signing up and putting their skills to the test before joining us at The Centaur for the main event.
“The Spectre has shown over the years that it is the perfect place to host a competition like this, and I’m sure it will be another thrilling affair this time around.”
