Paul Collicutt played his first game of cricket for a year, took a wicket with his first ball, took another with his fifth ball and finished with 4-24.

The 67-year-old, who manages Bishop’s Cleeve Football Club, was playing for Elmley Castle 2nds and he helped his side to a six-wicket win over Temple Grafton 2nds in Division Five West of the Cotswold Hills League.

He was a regular for Elmley Castle back in the day and he said: “I used to bowl off 12, 13 or 14 paces but now I come off two, and one of those is a half! I play if they need me.”

He was the seventh of eight bowlers used and his six overs also included a maiden.

He wasn’t required to bat against Temple Grafton.

Elmley Castle’s 1st XI play in the Second Division of the Cotswold Hills League.
