Colin Bullock delivers six of the best as Fairford have Frampton-on-Severn in a spin

The experienced Colin Bullock produced a mesmerising bowling performance as Fairford clinched a convincing seven-wicket victory over Frampton-on-Severn.

Bullock, who has been with the club for 25-plus years, bowls left-arm chinaman and in a remarkable spell he took 6-7 in 6.1 overs as Frampton collapsed from 75-2 to 125 all out.

“He really got it going,” said team-mate William Bowers. “He was spinning it big in both directions.

“When he gets it right he’s very difficult to play against.”

Fairford were then made to work hard for their third league win of the campaign before securing victory in the 30^th over.

“They bowled very well at us,” said Bowers, who finished unbeaten on 28.

The win lifted Fairford to sixth in Division Three of the Gloucestershire League, ahead of Frampton who have dropped to eighth.

Fairford won the Division Three title back in 2022 and Bowers is happy with where the club are.

“I think we’re playing at the right level,” he said.

On Saturday, Fairford travel to fifth-placed Shurdington, who are 25 points ahead of them. The top five teams are separated by just eight points.
