Spoilt for choice in dessert heaven at Creams

If, like me, you think the highlight of any meal is the dessert, but you can’t always manage it because the first two courses have filled you up, Creams is the place for you.
Situated in the Brewery Quarter in Cheltenham, the restaurant specialises in all kinds of desserts including sundaes, waffles, cookie dough, crepes, sorbets, cakes and more. Not to mention the drinks menu, which features a myriad of milkshakes, soda floats, slushes and smoothies just to name a few!
We were shown to our booth by the store manager, Andrea Hannis, who was very friendly and accommodating throughout our visit.
The inside of the restaurant is vibrantly designed, with plenty of seating including comfortable booths and tables for groups of all sizes.
After perusing the menu and making our choices – which with the range of treats on offer was a very difficult thing to do – we placed our orders. Creams operates an order at the counter service, and the staff behind the counter were very polite and helpful.
Despite it being quite a busy evening, due to it being half term for schools, our food arrived quickly after ordering.
On our table we had three different varieties of waffles – M&Ms, Bueno and White Choc Blizzard – and a White Chocolate Cookie Dough Utopia for myself.
The American-style waffles are all freshly made to order, and with a variety of toppings to choose from – as well as the “Invent Your Own” option, which applies to most desserts on the menu and allows you to pile all sorts of sweets and sauces onto your plate.
I went for the cookie dough option, as I always hear good things about it but never usually plump for it.
My dessert came in a cast iron pan, absolutely drenched in melted white chocolate and covered with white chocolate shavings.
The cookie dough was still warm, and when combined with the serving of vanilla ice cream made for a perfect combination. Throw in the heaps of white chocolate and I was well and truly satisfied by the time I’d finished it.
Judging by the empty plates and prolonged silences while my friends polished off their desserts, it’s safe to say the waffles went down a treat.
Also impressing my guests were the smoothies – they went for the Mango Gogo and Mixed Bunch, which they said were delicious and the perfect consistency. I personally went for a mixed slush, which was particularly refreshing after the rich dessert.
Creams operates a takeaway service and will even provide boxes for you to take away your dessert if you don’t manage to finish, which would prove especially useful if you popped in following a meal elsewhere.
All in all Creams is the perfect way to treat yourself to whatever dessert takes your fancy, and with their location in the Brewery Quarter can be a great way to finish off an evening of fun.Other Images
