Old Cryptians set up RFU Junior Vase semi-final clash with Hendon

Loosehead prop Jake Kellaway is hoping to be fit for Old Cryptians’ RFU Junior Vase semi-final on Saturday 11th April.
The 20-year-old was forced to leave the field with a bang on the head after 35 minutes of their 46-10 quarter-final win at Westbury on Saturday.
By then the Gloucestershire One champions were already in charge of a game which they went on to win comfortably to set up a semi-final showdown at Hendon next month.
“We took control in the first 10 or 15 minutes,” said Kellaway, “we were very dominant from the off.”
And they will need to show similar form when they head to Hendon, who booked their place in the last four with a 27-22 win over Cranbrook and who have won all 14 of their London and South East Division Herts/Middlesex One games this season.
Old Cryptians reached the last four of the RFU Junior Vase last season before losing out at home to Reeds Weybridge.
They are desperate to go one step further and make it all the way to Twickenham this time around and Kellaway, who has been with the club since he was 13, said: “It’s hard because it’s another away trip but it would be a dream come true to run out with my mates at Twickenham, that would be amazing.”
Old Cryptians return to league action on Saturday when they travel to Dursley.Copyright © 2024 The Local Answer Limited.
