Coney Hill target Twickenham glory in RFU Community Cup Counties 3 Championship final against Hucclecote

Coney Hill will step onto the biggest stage in English rugby on Saturday (11am) and they are not short of confidence.
They take on Hucclecote at Twickenham in the final of the RFU Community Cup Counties 3 Championship and they are going there to win.
Hucclecote finished 50 points ahead of Coney Hill as they clinched the Counties 3 Gloucestershire North title but Coney Hill rugby manager Ryan Barnett is in upbeat mood after hard-fought back-to-back cup wins over Barton-under-Needwood (33-26) and most recently Boston (24-15) to book their place in the final.
“We know we’re going there as underdogs, Hucclecote are playing some good rugby,” he said.
“But we have always been a very good underdog cup team, it’s going to be a close game.
“Our boys are really looking forward to it and if we play like we did against Boston we will certainly compete.”
This will be the first time that Coney Hill have played at Twickenham in their 79-year history and Barnett, who is 42, admitted: “It’s going to be an emotional day.”
The club, who finished the league campaign in seventh spot, have twice reached the semi-final of the RFU Intermediate Cup in recent years.
“It’s absolutely awesome, it’s third time lucky,” said Barnett. “It’s very special, particularly as we’ve not had it easy these past few seasons.
“But this cup run has galvanised the club, it’s got the players back playing.”
