Dursley Rugby Club storm to Stroud and District Combination Senior Cup win

Dursley hit Cirencester for six as they completed a hat-trick of Senior Cup wins in the Stroud and District Combination.
The Gloucester One side defeated their Western Counties North opponents 38-0 at Stroud in what was described as their “most complete team performance of the season” by first team manager Pete Broomfield.
No. 8 Simon Camm scored two tries and there was one apiece for centre Alexander ‘AJ’ Caddick, wing Brad Winchle, second row Scott Udal and second row replacement Leigh Lord.
Fly-half Grant Boucher was in his usual fine kicking form as he converted four.
“It was a fantastic end to the season for us,” said Broomfield. “I don’t think I’ve seen the team play as well collectively all season.
“We’ve played well in parts this season but they were on it from the get-go against Cirencester.
“Everyone played out of their skins and they didn’t take their foot off the pedal.”
This year’s win follows victories in the previous two years over Stroud, who play in Western Counties North, and Cirencester.
“In one-off cup games, particularly against teams who play at a higher level, we just seem to flick the switch,” said Broomfield.
