Warwick Racecourse is a course rich in tradition and heritage, and one that has certainly played its part in the history of horseracing.
Situated just an hour away from Gloucestershire, the racecourse is one of the oldest in the country with racing being traced back to as early as 1694. The sport was originally introduced to the market town in the hope of attracting wealthy professionals, to help rebuild the area’s affluence after the devastating Great Fire of Warwick.
The most famous name to grace the course was the legendary Red Rum, who once ran on the flat in 1967 – the same year in which the course was bought by The Jockey Club, who continue to host a Jump racing calendar of fixtures from September to May taking place on weekdays and weekends.
As always, there is much to look forward to throughout the racing season, with 18 exciting days of quality Jump racing and various themes that offer something for everyone – from Gentleman’s Day (featuring the Kingmaker Chase) in February and the exciting Kids Carnival and Ladies Night fixtures that make up part of the May Racing Carnival.
As well as the fantastic atmosphere in the main enclosure on a raceday at Warwick, there are also a number of options for hospitality and raceday entertainment including elegant hospitality suites, marquees and private boxes. There’s also the ever-popular 1707 restaurant – named after the year of the course’s official inaugural race – that boasts a delicious three course a-la-carte menu and panoramic views of the racecourse.
Aside from all the high-quality racing on offer, Warwick also serves as an ideal venue for events, from conferences, meetings and team building, to exhibitions, weddings and bereavement receptions to name just a few. Whatever the size of the event, the facilities’ function room hire capabilities promises to impress guests, thanks to the easily accessible location, ample free parking and comfortable, welcoming environment.Other Images
