Tredworth Tigers enjoy a great day

Tredworth Tigers defeated Chalford Reserves 5-1 on Saturday

Lee Smith said it would be a great day and it certainly was as Tredworth Tigers clinched the Stroud League Division One title on Saturday.

And just to prove how good a day it was, player/joint manager Smith sent a couple of photos to The Local Answer to show just how special it was.

Their 5-1 win over Chalford Reserves means that the title is theirs, such is their superior goal difference to second-placed Rodborough Old Boys.

Rodborough, who beat Kingswood 3-0 on Saturday, trail Tredworth by three points with just one game to play. That game is at Tredworth on Saturday and they go into it with a goal difference of 22 compared to Tredworth’s 49.

Tredworth have two games left to play – their final league fixture is at mid-table Old Richians on Saturday.

Lee Smith got two of Tredworth’s goals against Chalford Reserves and there was one apiece for Corey Hill, Tyler Hill and Thierry Shitto.
