Tewkesbury Town and Cheltenham Civil Service Reserves share spoils in Cheltenham League Division One clash

Tewkesbury Town dropped their first points of the season in the Cheltenham Football League on Saturday but they are still setting a fast pace in Division One.
And it has to be said that a 2-2 draw at closest rivals Cheltenham Civil Service Reserves certainly isn’t a poor result.
The result leaves them three points clear at the top with 10 points from four games although Service have a game in hand.
There was just the one game in Division Two due to a number of County Cup matches but it was enough to see Smiths Barometrics Reserves take over at the top after their 3-0 win over Andoversford Reserves although they have played more games than pretty much every other team in the division.
There are new leaders in Division Three as well with Charlton Rovers Reserves climbing to the summit after their 7-0 demolition of Cheltenham Saracens Reserves.
But while there are new leaders in divisions two and three, it’s business as usual in Division Four where AFC Cheltenham are flying.
Their 4-0 win over Pittville United Reserves made it three wins out of three and while there are three teams in the division with nine points from three games – Winchcombe Town Reserves and Tewkesbury Athletic are the others – what makes AFC Cheltenham’s stats stand out is that they have goal difference of plus 31.Saturday’s resultsCheltenham LeagueDivision OneCheltenham CS Res 2 Tewkesbury Town First 2Dowty Dynamos 7 Newton 0Hanley Swan 3 Bredon Reserves 4Southside Star FC First 1 Malvern Vale FC First 1Division TwoSmiths Barometrics Ath Res 3 Andoversford Res 0Division ThreeCheltenham United 2 First FC Lakeside Res 4Charlton Rovers Res 7 Cheltenham Saracens Res 0Cheltenham Civil Serv Third 5 Worcester City Royals FC 2Falcons Reserves 4303 Squadron 1st 0Tewkesbury Town Res 3 Smiths Barometrics Ath Thirds 4Division FourAFC Cheltenham 4 Pittville United Reserves 0Andoversford Thirds 3 Tewkesbury Athletic First 4Charlton Rovers Third 3 Apperley First 4Gala Wilton A 2 Woodmancote United 5Winchcombe Town Res 4 Bishops Cleeve FC Development 2Copyright © 2024 The Local Answer Limited.
