Southside Star enjoy first win of Cheltenham League campaign with victory at AFC Renegades

A combination of the weather, cup competitions and the fixture computer means that some clubs have barely started their Cheltenham League campaign as we head towards December.
And once again, heavy rain meant that a good number of games had to be postponed on Saturday.
Just two matches survived in Division One. One of them saw Southside Star travel to AFC Renegades and the visitors were mighty pleased it was on because they won 4-1, their first league victory of the season.
The other game saw Malvern Vale win 5-2 at Hanley Swan.
The position wasn’t greatly improved in Division Two although three matches were completed.
St Paul’s United climbed up to third spot with a 2-0 win over Windyridge Rovers while Gala Wilton Reserves made it three wins out of three with a 4-0 win at Pittville United.
There were seven goals in the remaining game in the division but unfortunately for home side Fintan they were beaten by one by Welland Reserves.
FC Lakeside Reserves made it three wins out of three in Division Three with a 5-2 success over Falcons Reserves but Cheltenham United are still setting the pace even though they were held to a 2-2 draw by 303 Squadron.
Three games were played in Division Four with the standout game the match at Kempsey Corinthians where the home side made it three wins out of three with a 6-1 over Fintan Reserves.
Gala Wilton A eased to a 5-0 win over Pittville United Reserves while Apperley enjoyed a 2-1 success over Andoversford III.
