Holders Bishop’s Cleeve A closing in on a place in final of Cheltenham League Junior Charity Cup
Author: Roger Jackson, Posted: Thursday, 15th November 2018, 16:00
Cheltenham League Junior Charity Cup holders Bishop’s Cleeve A will take on Upton Town in the semi-final of this season’s competition.
The two Division One clubs will meet at Petersfield Park Stadium, home of Cheltenham Saracens, on Thursday 22nd November (kick-off 7pm).
The other semi-final sees Bredon Reserves, from the second division, take on Andoversford, who play in the top flight. They meet on Tuesday 20th November, also at Petersfield Park Stadium (kick-off 7pm).
The final of the competition, which is for teams in the top two divisions, will take place at Gala Wilton on Saturday 29th December (kick-off 2pm).
In the Minor Charity Cup – the competition for teams in Division Three and Four – the semi-final draw has paired Leckhampton Rovers with Malvern Vale, who both play in Division Three, and Shurdington Rovers Reserves with FC Lakeside Reserves.
Shurdington’s reserves play in Division Two but are eligible for the Minor Cup because their flagship team play in Division One.
FC Lakeside should provide them with a good test, however, as they have been going well in Division Four this season.
Malvern Vale and Leckhampton meet on Wednesday 21st November and Shurdington take on FC Lakeside on Wednesday 5th December. Both games will be played at Bishop’s Cleeve FC, Kayte Lane (kick-off 7pm).
The final of the competition, which was won last season by AFC Renegades, will take place at Gala Wilton on Sunday 30th December (kick-off 2pm).
Both competitions are sponsored by Cemar.
The first round of the league’s Senior Charity Cup, which is open to all clubs, takes place on Saturday 8th December with the second round is scheduled for Saturday 5th January.Copyright © 2024 The Local Answer Limited.
