Frampton United score six in County League win over Gala Wilton
Author: Roger Jackson, Posted: Monday, 11th March 2019, 15:00
Frampton United hit Gala Wilton for six as they eased to an impressive County League win.
Mind you, the second-placed club didn’t have it all their own way initially in the 6-1 win at Gala because the home side were ahead as early as the second minute, when a ball over the top of the visitors’ defence was picked up by Tom Dunsford who fired home.
Frampton didn’t pull level until the 25th minute when Sean Lawson danced past several Gala defenders to slot the ball home.
However, that sparked a goal rush and five minutes later Ryan Vincent and Lawson were involved in a one-two with Vincent finishing the move off.
Josh Beadle then set up Manolo Espada to make it 3-1 on 38 minutes and just before the break Lawson got his second when he tapped in a cross from Espada at the far post.
It got worse for Gala after the break as Vincent pounced to net his second before Dominic Brown tapped home to complete the scoring.
Stonehouse Town have climbed back up to third place after they defeated Broadwell Amateurs 2-1.
All the goals were scored in the first half with Stonehouse going ahead on 12 minutes through Luke Soule.
The home side made it 2-0 in the 25th minute when Tim Williams headed in a Liam Gale cross. Broadwell struck just before the break when Harry Williams turned in a cross from Jacob English.
Hardwicke enjoyed a 2-0 win at Hanham Athletic with the opening goal coming in the 20th minute following a goalmouth scramble which saw Rob Hine getting the final touch.
The home side had several good chances to level but wasted them and they were made to pay in the 57th minute when Will Higgins was brought down in the penalty box before getting up and slotting the spot-kick.
Hanham were reduced to nine players before the finish on a tough day for the home side.
