Cheltenham Civil Service Reserves heading to the Jonny-Rocks Stadium
Author: Roger Jackson, Posted: Thursday, 31st March 2022, 12:10
Cheltenham Civil Service Reserves will be playing at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium on Wednesday 27th AprilCheltenham Civil Service Reserves have booked themselves a night out at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium at the end of April.
Their 1-0 win over Hanley Swan at Kayte Lane through a Scott Edginton goal has earned them a place in the final of the Cheltenham League’s Senior Charities Cup, a game that will be played at the home of Cheltenham Town on Wednesday 27th April (7pm).
The already crowned Division One South champions will play the winners of the other semi-final between Montpellier and AFC Kempsey, a tie that will be played at Kayte Lane on Wednesday 6th April (7pm).
That tie features two teams from Division Three and league fixture secretary John Hunt said: “That’s pretty impressive, you don’t normally get two teams from that level playing in the last four of the main cup competition, they are good teams.”
The next few weeks are going to be very busy for everyone involved with the Cheltenham League of course – players, officials and administrators – with titles, promotions and cups all up for grabs.
The league’s final fixture of the season is the Junior Charities Cup final at Kayte Lane on Friday 13th May (7pm) – two days after the Minor Chrities Cup final at the same venue – and Hunt said that he hoped the vast majority of league fixtures will be completed by Saturday 30th April.
As well as the cup finals, Hunt has also set a date for the play-off between the Division One North and Division One South title winners, a game that will take place at Kayte Lane on Friday 6th May (7pm) with Cheltenham Civil Service Reserves playing either Fintan or Whaddon United.
“We are extremely grateful to the support we have received from Bishop’s Cleeve Football Club,” said Hunt. “Their new all-weather pitch will make a big difference.
“We are also very grateful to Cheltenham Town for allowing us to use their ground for the Senior Charities Cup final, they have also been a great help.”
