Brockworth Albion Youth Under-9s enjoy special day at Cheltenham Youth League’s cup finals weekend at Cheltenham Town
Author: Roger Jackson, Posted: Tuesday, 12th May 2026, 09:00
This is what it means to win a cup final at Whaddon Road, the home of Cheltenham Town Football Club.
The smiles on the faces of the youngsters in the adjacent photo belong to the players of Brockworth Albion Youth Under-9s, who were one of the successful teams at the Cheltenham Youth League’s ever-popular cup finals weekend.
They defeated Leckhampton Rovers Falcons 4-1 and manager Danny Miller MBE said: “It was a great day, great for the kids and great for the parents, it was really well run.”
Miller’s son Harry lifted the trophy after two goals apiece from Rory McAlary and Harrison Bradbury had secured the victory.
“To see how happy the kids were after the game was really special,” continued Miller. “We were really pleased just to get to the final, these memories will be with them forever.”
The squad, which included two under-8s, have been together for two years – they currently play seven-a-side – and Miller, who was awarded an MBE in recognition of his 24 years’ service in the Army, said the players were already looking forward to next season.
“It’s the start of a journey,” he said.
