Bishop’s Cleeve A win Cheltenham League’s Junior Charity Cup with victory over Andoversford PLUS Saturday’s fixtures

Bishop’s Cleeve A retained the Cheltenham League’s Junior Charity Cup with a 4-2 win over Andoversford at Kayte Lane last night.
And yet Andoversford, who were also runners-up last season, started brightly. Ergys Berisha headed over the bar in the opening exchanges and they were ahead in the 17th minute when Cleeve defender Stefan Hunt was unlucky to see the ball ricochet off his hip and into the net.
They weren’t in front for long, however. Cleeve keeper James Trigg’s long goal kick caught out the Andoversford defence and Rich Barnes was on hand to tuck the ball away.
Two minutes later Barnes was there again to tuck away his second.
Back came Andoversford and this time it was a mix up in the Cleeve defence which allowed Billy Frewin to grab an equaliser.
It was exciting stuff and there was still time for another goal before the break with Will Collicutt squeezing the ball home.
After all those first-half goals, a decent sized crowd had to wait until the 91st minute for another.
Josh Zenelli, who had worked hard up front for Cleeve all evening, was upended in the box and Tommy Cooper tucked away the penalty.
