Brad Hewer earns County League points for Sharpness at Gala Wilton

Second-placed Sharpness remain on the coat-tails of Frampton United in the County League after a 1-0 win at Gala Wilton on Saturday.
The win leaves them four points adrift of the leaders who won 4-1 at home to Hardwicke.
Sharpness’ goal came just before half time. Both Ryan Dobbins and Jay Dare had early chances for the home side, but Dobbins shot wide and Dare shot straight at the keeper.
Sharpness striker Dan Gayner then missed a good chance on 23 minutes and Fin Small dribbled past several home defenders only to lose the ball at the last moment.
The visitors went ahead in the 42nd minute with a cracking free-kick from Brad Hewer, who curled the ball over the wall and into the net.
Martin Smith had a great chance to level on 52 minutes but his header went wide while on 66 minutes Jordan Molyneux struck the crossbar for the home side. Then late in the game Ben Sluman’s effort skimmed across goal and out of play.
Frampton, meanwhile, went ahead on 37 minutes when Nathan Dennis headed in a Fyn Blythe corner and a couple of minute later they nearly made it 2-0 when Hardwicke keeper Tom Kaye saved well from Dan Martin who was clear on goal.
Hardwicke levelled the score right on half time with a Kieran Squires goal but Frampton were back in front soon after the break through Dan Martin. Then Manolo Espada got in on the act with a 20-yard rocket that flew into the top corner and Espada rounded off the scoring on 86 minutes when he scored again from a corner.
A first-half hat-trick by Dan Webb helped condemn Quedgeley Wanderers to a 5-1 defeat at Rockleaze Rangers.
Webb scored his first in the 14th minute but the visitors were soon level when a long ball out of defence found Dorian Colling who outpaced the home defence and slip the ball past Lewis Brodie.
Webb added a second but Quedgeley were unfortunate not to find a second equaliser when Langdon hit the bar and then a post in a matter of seconds.
Jordan Dent scored the home side’s fourth after the break and the fifth goal had a large element of luck to it when a cross from Mark Hatfield stuck the joint of the bar and post and rebounded off the back of keeper Farmer and into the net.
