Sharpness moved level at the top of the County League after a 4-1 win over Little Stoke on Saturday.

They trail leaders Frampton United only on goal difference although they have played one game more than their title rivals.

Sharpness were ahead after 10 minutes through Alex Gayner and 12 minutes later they were two goals to the good through Sam Strickland.

On 33 minutes Stoke were back in the game as Luke Meacham latched on to a ball from Russ Church and ran clear to fire past keeper Dan Hobbs.

Sharpness made it 3-1 after the break when Dan Gayner was played in by Brad Hewer and they got a fourth on 68 minutes when Dan Gayner finished off a cross from Sam Strickland.

Frampton slipped to only their second defeat of the campaign as they went down 2-1 at Henbury who went ahead in the ninth minute when Ryan Ford headed into his own goal.

Frampton created numerous chances but failed to find the back of the net until right on half time when a long ball out of defence found Ryan Ford who was clear on goal.

Henbury keeper Bebbington challenged for the ball which spun clear and Ford recovered it to run through and slip the ball into an empty net.

Henbury made it 2-1 in the 71st minute following an Adam Rosser free-kick. The initial effort was saved but the ball ran loose to defender Dan Brown and his attempted clearance struck Joe Cox and finished up in the back of the Frampton net.

Frampton should have levelled the score on 85 minutes when Ryan Vincent broke clear but he sent his shot wide.

Two goals in the opening 10 minutes earned Hardwicke a 2-1 win over visitors AEK Boco.

The visitors actually made a very bright start with Jason Thatcher’s 25-yard effort brilliantly saved by Tom Kaye.

The home side were ahead after eight minutes through Steve Bick and two minutes later Bick slid the ball through to Richard Mansell to make it 2-0.

Mansell went close to adding a second before five minutes before the break Kaye saved well to deny Jake Slocombe from a free-kick.

The visitors pushed hard in the second half and were eventually rewarded in the 65th minute when Toby Webb gave away a penalty which Jake Slocombe slotted past Kaye.

Hardwicke should have won more convincingly in the end because Manning brought off a great save to deny Richard Mansell’s spot-kick just before the final whistle.

Gala Wilton went past 50 goals for the season – they’ve now scored 51 and are the leading scorers in the league – after winning 3-0 at Hanham Athletic.

Ben Sluman gave them an 18th minute lead with a crisp shot from the edge of the box.

Martin Smith had a great chance to double the advantage but made amends in the 62nd minute when he headed in a cross.

The visitors got a third on 75 minutes after they broke away following a Hanham corner and Ben Sluman drove home his second of the afternoon.

Quedgeley Wanderers bounced back to form with a 2-1 win over visitors Bromley Heath United.

There was an early chance for Kyle James-Bryan for the home side but he shot wide and at the other end Todd Carter did the same for the visitors.

Wanderers took the lead on 30 minutes when Henry Birkett set up Kyle James-Bryan to slot home.

James-Bryan had another good chance to increase that lead before the break but was wide of the target.

Just after the restart Josh Wilson’s effort was really well saved by the Bromley keeper before Henry Birkett set up a second goal for Wanderers, this time laying it on for Sean Lawson to score.

Bromley did manage to get a goal back late on when Ben Hargett scored but it was too little too late.
