Windyridge Rovers go through in GFA Intermediate County Cup North thriller

Windyridge Rovers are through to the third round of the GFA Intermediate County Cup North after an impressive 3-2 win over St Paul’s United.Both teams play in Division Two of the Cheltenham League but with Rovers able to call on a number of experienced heads in their squad including Wes Sharpe, Ron Joynes, Dave Keylock and Terry Gardiner they managed to go through in a thriller.Gala Wilton Reserves hosted Smiths Barometrics Athletic Reserves in the same competition and a single goal was enough to send them into the next round.Brockworth Albion Reserves eased into the next round with a 6-1 defeat of Barnwood United Reserves but Fintan went down 6-0 at Longford Reserves.A number of games had to be postponed because of the weather but AFC Renegades were certainly pleased that their GFA Junior County Cup North match was able to go ahead because they won 4-2 at Bream Amateurs.Southside Star are also through in the same competition after winning at Mushet and Coalway in a thriller.
