Birthday boy Will Higgins is hat-trick hero in Hardwicke’s impressive County League win

Will Higgins celebrated his birthday in style as he scored all three goals in Hardwicke’s 3-0 County League win over Henbury.
The first came after 15 minutes and followed some good work by Tobie Webb, and Webb almost set up Craig Beaton for a second but his scissor kick went just wide.
At the other end Jacob Hobbs made a good save to deny George Loud on the stroke of half time, but Higgins put his side firmly in control on the hour when he converted a penalty awarded after Richard Mansell had been brought down.
Higgins completed the scoring in the 75th minute with a strike that went zipping into the bottom corner.
Frampton United rounded off their campaign with a 2-1 victory at Hanham Athletic.
After Josh Beadle had threatened with a 30-yard free-kick the visitors went ahead on 30 minutes, when a Beadle corner from the right was met by Ryan Vincent who smashed the ball home.
At the other end Steve Sparrow twice had to make saves to preserve Frampton’s lead over Hanham, and in the 78th minute Frampton broke away when Jonathan Lewis, who had come on as a substitute, neatly chipped the ball over Hawkins to make it 2-0.
The home side did manage a goal back in the 89th minute when Jack Baber headed in at the far post from a Tom Welling free-kick.
Stonehouse Town’s 1-1 draw at AEK Boco means they will still overhaul second-placed Frampton if they win their three remaining games.
However, the title is now out of reach and goes to Lebeq United who defeated Gala Wilton 4-1 on Friday evening. Martin Smith scored Gala’s goal.
