FC Lakeside Reserves face tough Cheltenham League Senior Charities Cup test against Tewkesbury Town
Author: Roger Jackson, Posted: Thursday, 10th January 2019, 14:50
FC Lakeside Reserves, who are flying high at the top of Division Four of the Cheltenham League, get a chance to test themselves against much higher-ranked opposition in the third round of this season’s Senior Charities Cup.
That’s because they have been drawn away to face Tewkesbury Town, from Division One.
Tewkesbury booked their place in the last 16 with a 2-1 win over Division Three pace-setters Malvern Vale while FC Lakeside thumped fellow Division Four side Winchcombe Town Reserves 15-0.
Another tie sees Division One take on Division Four, with Cheltenham Saracens Reserves hosting Upton Town, who are second in Division One.
Meanwhile Brockworth Albion Reserves’ reward for their impressive 5-2 win at Shurdington Rovers is another trip to play a Division One team with the Division Two side drawn against Bishop’s Cleeve A.
The draw for the competition was made yesterday and all eight matches will be played on Saturday 16th February. The Senior Charities Cup competition is sponsored by CEMAR, who specialise in contract event management software.
Third round draw: Cheltenham Saracens Res v Upton Town; Pittville Utd v Bredon; Southside Star v St Paul’s Utd; FC Barometrics v Kings FC; Hanley Swan v AFC Renegades; Tewkesbury Town v FC Lakeside Res; Gala Wilton III v Andoversford; Bishop’s Cleeve A v Brockworth Albion Res.Copyright © 2024 The Local Answer Limited.
