Forest Green away to Swindon Town, Cheltenham Town home to Colchester United in the Carabao Cup

Forest Green Rovers will make the 30-mile trip down the road to play Swindon Town in the first round of next season’s Carabao Cup.

The draw was made today and will see Mark Cooper’s team take on their fellow League Two rivals in the week beginning Monday 13th August.

Cheltenham Town, meanwhile, have home advantage against Colchester United, who also ply their trade in League Two.

Forest Green lost 2-0 at home and 1-0 away to Swindon in the league last season, a campaign that saw Swindon finish just outside the play-offs.

Colchester finished four places and 11 points ahead of 17th-placed Cheltenham last season but Gray Johnson’s side will be full of confidence when they meet in August after a 3-1 win at home and a 4-1 win away over them last season.

The League Two fixtures for 2018/19 are scheduled to be released on Thursday.
