Liam Gale scored four goals as Stonehouse Town won 6-1 at Kingswood to move into the top half of the County League.
Town opened the scoring on 18 minutes when Gale turned in an Andy Maryon cross, but within a minute the home side drew level with a speculative shot from the edge of the box by Matt Poole.
Twenty minutes later, Town retook the lead when Maryon fired home. Maryon netted his second on 55 minutes and then it became the Liam Gale show as he blew hot with goals in 59th, 72nd and 79th minutes.
Broadwell Amateurs have moved into the top three on the back of some good results in recent weeks, the latest a 3-0 win at Southmead CS Athletic.
They took the lead on 16 minutes when Harry Williams headed home from a long ball over the home defence. Jordan Sheen got the second on 61 minutes from a long corner to the far post and a minute later new signing Billy Guest cut in from the flank to make it 3-0.
Hardwicke are fourth after their 2-0 victory over Rockleaze Rangers. Hardwicke had early appeals for a penalty turned down when they thought Will Matthews had been brought down.
Paul Carter’s shot was then well saved by Rangers keeper Will Stabb and from the corner Sam Knight cleared off the line from Matthews’ header.
Dan Bendall’s goal-bound shot for Rangers was headed over by Craig Beaton on 24 minutes, and then veteran keeper Mark Harris saved well from another Rangers attack.
A minute before the break, the home side took the lead when Craig Harris lobbed the ball over the Rangers keeper and Steve Bick rushed in to make sure it crossed the line.
They added a second on 68 minutes when Craig Harris was upended in the box and Paul Carter netted from the spot. The Rangers’ keeper then made a great save from a 30-yard shot from Glen Gittins.
Thornbury Town have opened up a seven-point lead at the top after a 5-0 win at Gala Wilton
Craig Lancastle led the way with a hat-trick and there were also goals for Brandon Benjamin and Toby Bennett. It could have been worse for Gala but for the heroics of goalkeeper Dan Brabham.
Ruardean Hill Rangers fought hard to win their GFA Challenge Trophy third-round clash with Lebeq United 2-1.
The first chance came in the second minute when a Dan Mason free-kick was flicked just wide of the post by Shaun Tingle.
Ruardean Hill took the lead in the 10th minute when Omar Lindsey couldn’t cut out a through ball allowing Luke Brown to nip in and lift the ball over goalkeeper Jesionowski into the empty net.
Two more dangerous set-pieces from Dan Mason nearly resulted in goals. First, a free-kick resulting in Terry Obeng heading behind his own goal, and from the resulting corner Shaun Tingle headed into the side netting.
Lebeq’s first opportunity came in the 25th minute when Shah Bhakerd turned well inside the area but as he shaped to shoot Jack Meek was across to block his effort. Things got worse for Lebeq in the 42nd minute when Hassankafi Ibrahim was shown a straight red card for a foul on Stuart Cornwell-Boote.
Rangers doubled their lead in the 50th minute when captain Luke Brown burst through the defensive line and cut the ball back across the face of goal for the onrushing Kane Fellows who slotted the ball home.
Lebeq went close to pulling a goal back in the 60th minute when substitute Leroy Swaby curled the ball past the wall and the post from 20 yards out.
Lebeq keeper Jesionowski saved excellently with his feet from Shaun Tingle’s low shot following a good lay-off from Luke Johnson, and Lebeq got back into the game when Twaine Plummer smashed in a lot shot across the face of goal and into the net in the 65th minute.
Bobby Walding made a superb block in the 80th minute to prevent Twaine Plummer getting the equaliser and Rangers managed to see out the remainder of the game to advance into the quarter-finals.
Hellenic League Premier Division Brimscombe and Thrupp proved too strong for Patchway Town as they eased to a 5-0 lead.
It was scoreless at the break but four minutes into the second half the visitors took the lead when Sam Blackie tucked in a cross from the flank. Jack Smith then made it 2-0 from another cross into the box and Sam Blackie soon made it 3-0. The fourth, again from a cross, saw Jack Smith head into an empty net before Ollie Pitt rounded off the scoring.
Frampton United are through to the next round after an excellent 2-1 home win over Cirencester Development from the Hellenic League Division One West.
The visitors looked to have opened the scoring on 20 minutes, but Luke Brown’s shot cannoned back off the crossbar. Matt Cook almost gave the home side the lead on 33 minutes but the Cirencester keeper just managed to push his shot onto the post.
Cirencester took the lead on 55 minutes from a Sam Sparr header and they almost went 2-0 up on 63 minutes when Jack Hargreaves hit the crossbar.
Nathan Dennis cleared off the line for Frampton on 78 minutes and the home side levelled the score three minutes later with a Nathan Dennis shot from the edge of the box.
Five minutes later, a quick break up field by Frampton saw Jon Lewis round the keeper to win them the game.
