Hatherley and Reddings Under-15s are three more wins away from a Lord’s final after easing past Cowbridge by 54 runs in the second national round of the ECB Vitality U15 Club T20.

The Gloucestershire champions totalled 160-4 after losing the toss away to their Welsh hosts, the top order all finding form on the big occasion.

Henry Driver-Dickerson (38 from 28) and Noah Bennett (22) shared an opening stand of 54, while Harrison Tegg (42 from 34) and captain James Burton (39 off 28) kept the pressure on to help their side take the initiative.

Hatherley then made an immediate impact with the ball, George Collingwood taking two early wickets to finish with 2-10 from four while there was also a strike from Burton (1-11).

Home captain Theo Walker stood firm with an excellent 50 before he had to retire, but wickets tumbled at the other end as the visitors took complete control.

Bennett took the final two wickets to fall, in his opening over, with Nirvana Jain and Driver-Dickerson also taking wickets as Hatherley eventually won with plenty to spare.

They now prepare to face Swindon at Wembdon on Thursday and the winners will meet Taunton St Andrews or Wimborne later the same day in the regional final, with the victors progressing to a national semi-final at Wokingham on Monday 7th August.

The final takes place at Lord’s on Saturday 2nd September.
