After the frenzy of Christmas celebrations, I like to relax into a calm and organised home. The new year is the perfect time to de-clutter and there is no shortage of advice on how to do it, from the original tidying guru Marie Kondo to Instagram home organisers like @shiragill. Part of the process is finding the right storage – here are some of my favourites.

Sort out the kitchen

I always find other people’s kitchens a challenge as I can never find anything. It helps if you can see things at a glance; floating open shelving is a good option and looks contemporary. Organised drawers, cupboards and fridges are a must; I like Homebase’s affordable Smartstore range for storage boxes. My Nordic-style washing up caddy is practical and chic, and I use small sustainable rattan baskets for spices.

Banish bathroom clutter
