The nights are getting longer and the temperature is getting lower which can mean one thing – it’s officially panto season.
Here in Gloucestershire we’ve got plenty of amateur and professional productions going on from now through until January, and so we’ve put together this guide to help you find out about the best pantomimes and festive plays near you.
Cheltenham
Cinderella, Everyman Theatre, Friday 29th November - Sunday 12th January
The annual, family-friendly pantomime is back, featuring Tweedy the Clown as Buttons, alongside a fantastic cast of West End regulars.
Robinson Crusoe, Bacon Theatre, Thursday 16th - Sunday 19th January
Promenade Productions presents their traditional family pantomime ‘Robinson Crusoe and the Pirates’.
There’ll be lots of audience participation, an over-the-top Dame, colourful costumes and lots of laughs.
Gloucester
Sleeping Beauty, The King’s Theatre, Wednesday 18th - Saturday 21st December
The Crown Players present their version of the beloved fairytale about a princess forced to slumber by an evil fairy’s curse at The Kings Theatre.
Pinocchio, Gloucester Guildhall, Friday 6th December - Saturday 4th January
An evening of family friendly fun, the classic story of the puppet who wants to be a real boy is presented by the Strike a Light Festival.
North Gloucestershire
Robin Hood Meets Babes in the Wood, Watson Hall, Thursday 7th - Saturday 9th November
The Manor Players of Tewkesbury present their annual pantomime, a twist on the classic story of Robin Hood.
Aladdin, The Roses Theatre, Saturday 30th November - Saturday 4th January
The classic pantomime comes to the Roses Theatre over the festive period, whisking audiences away on a magic carpet ride.
Cotswolds
Reindeer on the Roof, Sundial Theatre, Saturday 14th December
Join Darcy on her epic adventure to get her new Reindeer friend back to Lapland where he belongs and discover the true meaning of Christmas along the way.
Stroud District
Jack and the Beanstalk, Stroud Subscription Rooms, Saturday 21st - Tuesday 24th December
That’s Entertainment Productions returns to the Sub Rooms with a brand new panto starring ‘Allo Allo’ comedy Legend Sue Hodge.
Babes in the Wood, Cotswold Playhouse, Thursday 16th - Saturday 18th and Thursday 23rd - Saturday 25th January
