PinPointMedia are a Cheltenham-based company who specialise in creating content for companies all around the world.

Using film, animation and photography, the company – which has offices in Manchester and London with the head office based in Cheltenham town centre – create content for brands and businesses of all sizes.

In recent years, it has become something of a tradition for the team to put together a Christmas film, and last year they created ‘The Great British Filmmakers Bakeoff’, featuring members off staff displaying their best attempts at baking.

“This year we wanted to add some value to our Christmas film in some way,” explained Projects and Operations Director Fergus Bruce.

“We decided to try and help a charity, in the spirit of Christmas.”

In October, the company started a social media campaign, inviting charities from all over the UK to apply for PinPoint to produce a film on the work they do, free of charge.

“We had over 100 applications,” continued Fergus, “and we chose Molly Olly’s Wishes.

“The work they do is particularly special and we felt we’d be able to create a really effective film for them.”

Molly Olly’s Wishes are a Warwick-based charity that supports children with terminal or life threatening illnesses and their families.

The charity was founded in 2011 by Rachel and Tim Ollerenshaw following the death of their daughter Molly, and they provide ‘Wishes’ in the form of treatments, therapies and special experiences for ill children.

“The team from the charity came and met us and we worked with them to try and showcase the work they do,” said Fergus.

“We decided the best way would be to base the film around one of the families they are helping.”

They told the story of Rhys, a seven year old living with a brain tumour.

In the film, Rhys’ parents talk about his condition and the challenges they face every day.

They also explain how Molly Olly’s has helped, providing a therapeutic teddy called ‘Olly the Brave’, who has a Hickman Line like Rhys, and showing the family on a day out to Longleat that the charity funded.

“It was an incredible experience but tough emotionally for everyone,” added Fergus.

“They’re such a brave and special family, and hopefully the film can help spread awareness and provide a visual reference of the good work the charity does.”
