The first ever Cheltenham Wellbeing Festival comes to the town next week.
The week-long event runs from Monday 9th to Sunday 15th Spetember and will feature events, workshops and talks focused on improving all aspects on wellbeing, from fitness and mental health to finance and careers.
Lottie Keble-Wyatt, one of the organisers behind the festival, explains how it all came about.
She said: “After seeing a gap in the market for a town-wide celebration of community wellbeing, to showcase local businesses and practitioners as well as bring external experts in the wellbeing field to Cheltenham, myself and my friend Alex Davison set up the Wellbeing Festival.
“We want to make Cheltenham a town known for being the centre of wellbeing.”
The festival will be split into four sections, offering visitors different experiences.
These include the ‘Active Pass’ which gives people the chance to try out a range of fitness classes and activities, and also the ‘Treatment Pass’, which offers things like therapists, spa treatments and pampering.
There will also be a range of talks and seminars from a host of experts, including Dr Dawn Harper, Dr Jeremy Howick and many more.
And there will be a host of workshops and events, including breakfast, lunch and supper clubs, also on offer in venues throughout the town.
The chance to support local shops, restaurants and other venues is also something the organisers hoping to do.
“We want the festival to benefit local businesses so we’re putting on events at iconic points around the town to direct people to the high street,” added Lottie.
“Our aim is to create an event for residents and visitors that will improve and enhance all aspects of their own wellbeing, from self-exploration to empowerment, whilst giving people the tools to live life well.”
