Halloween is lurking around the corner and Gloucestershire has loads of terrifying events taking place to scare you. Here’s a selection to get stuck into this October:

Party at Clearwell Caves

Clearwell Caves’ annual Halloween party is one of the biggest Halloween events to be held in the county.

Now in its 50th year, the Halloween party is set to take place on Saturday 27th October. With an evening of live music and dancing, hosted underground in the caverns, it promises to be a one of the best Halloween events held in Gloucestershire this year.

Spooktacular Halloween half term fun at Berkeley Castle

Creep down into the cellars and meet a coven of witches, and a few wizards too. Snap a magical selfie with the wizard and his spectacular owls in the Great Hall. Cosy up and enjoy spooky stories from Cassandra, the friendly witch.
And what is Halloween without pumpkins? Get creative carving scary faces into Jack o' Lanterns.

Berkeley Castle promises to be worth visiting this half term.

Watch a scary movie at the Cheltenham Playhouse

Dracula, one of the most legendary horror films ever made will be aired at the Cheltenham Playhouse on Saturday 27th October.
Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee star in Hammer's masterpiece. After Jonathan Harker attacks Count Dracula at his castle the vampire travels to a nearby city where he preys on the family of Harker's fiancée. The only one who may be able to protect them is Dr Van Helsing, Harker's friend and fellow-student of vampires, who is determined to destroy Dracula, whatever the cost.

Spot some ghosts in the Cotswolds

Cotswolds Ghost Tours are delivered by a group of professional tour guides who provide gimmick-free, historically motivated tours, with gripping tales of paranormal events from across the Cotswolds.
Somewhat different to the average ghost tour designed to make you scream, Cotswolds Ghost Tours take the concept of ghost tours back-to-basics by providing ‘story-telling events’ based on the incredible paranormal history of this beautiful region. Tours are available in Cheltenham and Prestbury.

Dig for spooky artefacts at Sudeley Castle

Do you dare delve into what lies beneath Sudeley Castle? A team of archaeologists need help to unravel the gruesome secrets of their bone boxes and concoct a Medieval cure. Plus get devilishly crafty with arts and crafts activities inspired by skeletons and bones. The archaeologists have also unearthed something fearsome in the castle grounds. A perfect event for children looking to get into the Halloween spirit.
