If you have a need for speed and a love of rally driving, a visit to the Gloucestershire Rally School should be at the top of your to-do list.
The Rally School is situated just a ten-minute drive from Cirencester and lies adjacent to the Cotswold Water Park. Established in 1994, the business has grown into one of the leading rally schools in the country. Andy Gwynne, owner and chief instructor of the rally school, has a wealth of experience behind the wheel. A two-time European A6 champion, he leads a team of professional drivers who are happy to impart their years of experience onto visitors.
Holly Robinson, operations manager at Gloucestershire Rally School, says there’s experiences for everyone to enjoy. “We offer a fantastic range of rally experiences, ranging from a white-knuckle ride with one of our experienced instructors through to one-to-one coaching for serious competitive drivers. Our main aim is providing opportunities to drivers of all abilities. Whether you’re a driver lacking in confidence wanting to brush up on your driving skills, or a budding rally driver of the future, we’ve something for you here.”
You don’t even need to have passed your driving test to get behind the wheel at the Gloucestershire Rally School, they offer driving experiences for children as young as ten. “The junior rally experience is two hours and presents the ultimate opportunity for children to learn the basics of driving in a safe, controlled environment, said Holly. “The vehicles have duel controls, so safety is assured. We also offer a disabled driving experience. The car is semi-automatic using a paddle gear change system on the steering wheel and the pedals are controlled using hand operated levers,” added Holly.
Despite the high-speed action of the race track safety is taken very seriously. “At our track, if you do get it wrong, you will simply spin off, slow down, return to the track and receive a hearty round of applause from the spectators,” said Holly.Other Images
