Local businesswoman Viva O’Flynn has become well known in Gloucester for her FUNtastic Fairs.
Held at venues around the city including the Gloucester Guildhall, St. Mary De Crypt, Gloucester Resource Centre and The Friendship Café, the fairs feature local businesses offering a variety of crafts, products, food and more.
Viva, who is originally from the Philippines, has previously worked as a journalist, event organiser and chef amongst other things before setting up her company Love Viva Cakes and Crafts.
“I’ve recently won in all three categories of a Fairtrade Bake off at St. Stephen’s Church in Cinderford,” she said.
“Those categories were: Vegan (First Prize), Twelve of the Same and Freestyle Categories (Both in Second Prize).
“Love Viva Cakes and Crafts also won Creative Business of the Year awarded by Women’s Business Club last year.”
Last month Viva organised a Valentines FUNtastic Fair, and she says that event and others before it have been very popular.
“Our previous fairs have all gone well,” she continued.
“We’re building a following, increasing footfall per fair and all the stall holders are constantly happy selling their wares. We've had Gloucester MP Richard Graham, Gloucester Mayor Colin Organ, and Gloucester Sheriff Cllr. Collette Finnegan as our special guests.”
Viva’s next fair will be on Saturday 7th March at St. Mary De Crypt and will be in celebration of Women’s Month.
She added: “With Women’s Day, Mothering Sunday and Easter coming up there will be an assortment of gifts, crafts, activities and cakes.
“Traders include Jacqueline Hammond, VE Jewelry, All Sorts by Mel, Arty Trees, Jane Cantwell, Henna Kraft by Sim, Be the best version of you by Becky, Yvonne Denman Utility Warehouse, Tallies Eco Crafts, Art Shape, and Love Viva Cakes and Crafts. See you there!
“Our next FUNtastic Fairs are on Saturdays from 10 am to 3 pm: 7th March, 18th April, 30th May and 27th June at St. Mary De Crypt, Southgate St., Gloucester, GL1 1TP.”
