Aspiring photographer Dannii Jones is set to hold her very first exhibition, on Wednesday 19th June at City Church in Gloucester.
“Photography is my passion,” said Dannii, 18. “I’ve always been into art, I’m a very creative person, so for my whole life I’ve done different arty things.
“When I was deciding which subject to do in college I decided on photography, because I felt I could make a career out of my passion and I fell in love with it.”
Dannii’s work earned her a place to study photography at the University of West England in Bristol.
It’s a step that she thought would never have been possible a few years ago.
“I am every emotion, I am scared about the change but also so, so excited,” said Dannii.
“I feel like it needs to be the next step in my life. I’ve struggled with education and due to hardships in my life I haven’t been able to just enjoy being myself and being a teenager so I feel like university will let me do this.
“Also I will be moving to Bristol which will give me more opportunities in the photography field, I can’t wait.”
Before heading off to university Dannii will be holding an exhibition of her work so far, entitled ‘New Beginnings’.
She continued: “I’ve been working with my tutor Martin Tandy and to end our tutoring we are doing an exhibition; it will show all the work I have done with his teachings and show what I have learnt.
“I’m extremely excited, yet nervous, having an exhibition has always been on my bucket list and I can’t believe I’m doing it so early on in my life. It feels like a dream come true and it is a big step in my career.
“My favourite genre of photography is portraits – you can incorporate every genre into a portrait, and you can create whatever you like. I also think people are beautiful and I love to show the art of people.”Other Images
