Cirencester AC runners put on a show at Swindon parkrun
Author: Roger Jackson, Posted: Saturday, 4th November 2017, 09:00
Looking at this picture it’s not immediately obvious what these five boys are up to.
Maybe they were being brave and preparing for a day at the beach or perhaps they were going for a swim in a nearby river?
In fact, it was neither of these. Instead the Cirencester AC members were competing in the Swindon parkrun and despite running in fancy dress more suitable for a swimming pool, they were able to make plenty of waves on the 5K trail race.
Issac and Jacob McAdam, who ran bare chested, finished third and fourth, while Ollie Campbell, who ran with armbands, and Luke Campbell, who went round the course with a rubber ring and snorkel, came seventh and 12th respectively.
Royal Agricultural University student Ollie Pritchard ran a PB to finish first in 17 minutes, 17 seconds.
Cirencester AC finishers: 1 Oliver Pritchard 17.17, 3 Isaac McAdam (J) 17.37, 4 Jacob McAdam 18.00, 7 Ollie Campbell (J) 19.01, 10 Martin Croucher 19.20, 12 Luke Campbell 19.50, 37 David Moss 21.40, 56 Sam Cook (J) 22.18, 125 Alan McAdam 24.49, 193 Barbara Thomas 27.00, 249 Rachel Jones 28.29. 545 finished.Copyright © 2024 The Local Answer Limited.
