Three Cheltenham Half Marathon runners hoping to raise £3,000

Three people who work in Cheltenham will be legging it around town at the beginning of October.
Zoe Llewellyn, Kane Turley and Jess Flavin have entered the Cheltenham Half Marathon on Sunday 1st October and are hoping to raise £3,000 for good causes.
The trio, who work for imaging and software specialist SpinMe, are currently supporting each other training in the run-up to the big day and each runner has chosen a charity to support.
Zoe explained: “Two months ago I decided to take part in the Cheltenham Half Marathon in memory of my uncle who sadly passed away earlier this year.
“I’ve only been with SpinMe for a few weeks but mentioned this to our CEO David Brint and we thought it would be an amazing opportunity to put a small company team together.
“So after sending out a few emails, I have managed to recruit two others from the company to run with me and raise money for their chosen charities as well.
We have nine weeks – eek! – to train and to fundraise as much as possible in that short amount of time.”
Zoe was inspired to take up the challenge of raising £1,000 for Cancer Research following the death of her uncle earlier this year while Kane hopes to raise a similar sum for Cheltenham Animal Shelter which rescues and rehomes unwanted an abandoned pets.
Jess, meanwhile, has chosen a newly formed organisation, Ecosystem Restoration Camps, as her charity which aims to restore degraded landscapes into lush, abundant and life-giving systems.
SpinMe are sponsoring their staff to help them reach their fundraising goals and Mr Brint said: “The Cheltenham Half Marathon is a great local event and SpinMe are proud to be sponsoring Kane, Jess and Zoe.
“They are all training really hard and we wish them all the best on the big day.”
SpinMe are based at Hatherley Film Studios in Cheltenham and count Selfridges, Halfords and Schuh among their clients.Copyright © 2024 The Local Answer Limited.
