Bourton Roadrunners turn on the style at Northleach Fun Run
Author: Roger Jackson, Posted: Sunday, 18th June 2017, 09:00
There was a large contingent of junior Bourton Roadrunners at the Northleach Fun Run.
The course was mainly off-road, starting and finishing at Northleach Primary School.
It included quite a demanding hilly section but finished with a longish, downhill section on the road.
Jake Astor was the first Bourton junior home taking second place overall in an excellent 13:04.
George Quli and Michael Astor finished in joint third place in the impressive time of 13:36 - especially impressive as both boys are only 11 and eight respectively.
George improved on his previous years time, by nearly 30 seconds and Michael would certainly appear to have a bright future in the sport if he continues to train.
Emily Field was first lady and sixth overall in 13:42 while there was a strong run by Lauren Farley who was second lady in 14:04 and 10th overall. She beat her time of last year by nearly one minute.
Christopher Hunt continues to impress, despite coming back from injury, with an excellent eighth place in 13:45, improving from 16:20 the previous year.
Twenty-five juniors took part in total and the leading runners above were well supported with Sean Farley 13th (14:17, 15:55 last year), Dougal Hamilton-Smith 16th (14:38), Callum Woolley 18th (15:15, 17:04 last year), Henry Everitt 19th (15:16), Arthur Quli 20th (15:19, 19:40 las year), Edward Jones 21st (15:21), Ella Davies 23rd (15:29), Harvey Sawyer 24th (15:37), Atticus Sinton 26th (15:41), Ella Gray 28th (15:43, 17:07 last year), Maite Capper 30th (16:04, 18:19 last year), Matilda Gorton 34th (16:21), Arlen Hartley 36th (16:47), Jacob Sinton 37th (17:10), Florence Cowell 38th (17:22), Lucas Hartley 40th (17:32), Daisy Keen 48th (18:46), Darcey Thompson 81st (21:55) and finally Isabel Dennett who injured herself but still finished in 84th (22:14).Other Images
