Cheltenham Tigers Women celebrate their win over Thurrock Ladies at Twickenham in 2024

Cheltenham Tigers Women finished their Championship North 1 campaign on a high with a thumping 84-0 win over Blaydon Red Kites at the Newlands on Saturday.

It lifted them above previous leaders Sale FC 1861 Women on points difference in the 10-team division and they are now looking forward to the end-of-season play-offs and another possible trip to Twickenham.

They will host Championship South 1 runners-up Old Albanian Saints in a play-off semi-final on Sunday 26^th April, a game their supporters will be hopeful of winning.

Old Albanian finished 14 points behind Richmond FC Women, losing five of their 18 games, while Cheltenham won 15 and drew one in their league campaign.

Should Cheltenham overcome Old Albanian they will play the winners of the Richmond/Sale play-off at Twickenham on Sunday 24^th May.

Cheltenham have been regular visitors to Twickenham over the past few years, most recently in 2024 when they beat Thurrock Ladies 42-10 in the Championship play-off final at the home of English rugby.

Head coach Bee Mocellin has been a big part of the club’s success and she said: “It’s been another good season, I’m dead chuffed.

“We lost a few players through retirement but we’ve done really well.”

Madi Williams and Niamh Finlayson have been their co-captains this season.
