Stow-on-the-Wold get ready for end-of-season play-offs

Stow-on-the-Wold complete their regular Midlands 2 West League campaign with a home game against near neighbours Shipston-on-Stour tomorrow.
But the Cotswolds club could face three more matches after the weekend before the final whistle is blown on their 2025/26 season.
Stow have qualified for the end-of-season play-offs – they are second in the 12-strong division – and will play the winners of the fourth and fifth-placed teams in a league play-off final on Saturday 25th April.
The fourth/fifth play-off – Silhillians and Hereford occupy those positions at the moment – will take place a week tomorrow. Stow have been given a bye because third-placed Luctonians 2nds are ineligible for promotion.
Should Stow win their league play-off final – and their supporters will be confident they will – they will then face the winners of the play-off games featuring teams from Regional 2 Midlands East and Regional 2 Midlands West on Saturday 2nd May.
Win that and Stow will play one of the losers from the Regional 1 relegation play-offs on 9th May to determine whether they will be promoted to Regional 1 Premier.
That would be a big step up for the club but chairman Craig Voisey said: “The boys have worked really hard and they deserve their rewards.
“It would be a big commitment but we’ll see what happens.”
