Cheltenham Saracens ready for biggest game in their history as they prepare to take on Sittingbourne in RFU Community Cup final

Cheltenham Saracens are preparing for the biggest game in their history on Sunday.
They take on Sittingbourne in the final of the RFU Community Cup Counties 3 Central Plate at Coventry and director of rugby Josh McNulty said: “It’s huge, massive.
“I’m chuffed to bits for everyone. It’s great for the lads, it’s great for the club and it’s a great way to end the season.”
And they want to end the season with a win, of course, although they know that won’t be easy against a side who have just clinched the Counties 3 Kent title after winning 19 of their 20 games.
“It’s going to be a real tough challenge, but it’s exciting,” said 32-year-old McNulty. “But it will be something different playing against a team outside the Gloucestershire zone.”
And Saracens will certainly go into the game full of confidence after their excellent 48-40 victory at Kings Norton six days ago.
That success in Alvechurch was something of a statement win and McNulty said: “The commitment of the boys has been outstanding.
“Their drive and will to win that game and to put on the performance they did, it was testament to everyone involved.”
Saracens, who finished fourth in Counties 3 Gloucestershire North, will have plenty of supporters in Coventry – the game kicks off at 4pm – and McNulty continued: “This is the club’s 50th anniversary season, what a way to celebrate it.”
And team manager Adrian Clarke, who has been at the club for 20 years and still plays for the 2nds at the age of 48, is certainly looking forward to the day.
He’s booked Monday off work and said: “Win, lose or draw, I’ll be celebrating a good season.”
