Cheltenham United missed out on a place in the final of the Gloucestershire Primary Cup in agonising fashion.
The Cheltenham League Division Four club drew 2-2 at North Gloucestershire League club Blakeney Reserves but were then beaten 5-3 in a penalty shootout.
Meanwhile, Smiths Athletic Reserves, who play in Division Three, were beaten 6-2 at home by North Nibley, of the Stroud League, in the Gloucestershire Minor Cup.
In the league, Division One leaders Andoversford went three points clear after winning 2-0 at third-placed Upton Town.
There were plenty of goals at Kings – all for the home side – as they defeated Newton 9-0 with hat-tricks for Matt Hill and Simon Dempster.
There weren’t as many goals at Dowty Dynamos but one was all that Tewkesbury Town needed to leave with the points.
AFC Renegades won the big clash in Division Two, winning 3-1 at nearest rivals Bredon Reserves.
Bredon have now dropped to third because St Paul’s United won 2-1 at Shurdington Rovers Reserves.
Renegades lead St Paul’s by two points and Bredon by three and have played two games fewer than their nearest challengers.
Goals by Malvern Vale leading scorer Mario Vieira and Matt Strangwood earned them a 2-1 win at fourth-placed Andoversford Reserves and saw them stretch their lead to four points at the top of Division Three.
Malvern Cave moved up to second in Division Four with a 3-2 win over Woodmancote United while at the other end of the table there was only a second win of the season for new boys Tewkesbury Athletic, who overcame Winchcombe Town Reserves 2-1.
Cheltenham League leading goalscorers – Division One: Zaqib Hussain (Upton Town) 26; Division Two: Michael West (St Paul’s Utd) 18; Division Three: Jamie Ellison (Andoversford Reserves) 26; Division Four: Chris Clavin (Cheltenham United) 37.
