Andoversford are through to the Cheltenham League Senior Charity Cup final after defeating Bredon Reserves 3-0 at Kayte Lane last night.
The Division One leaders were always favourites against their Division Two opponents but Bredon gave them an early scare when Seb Minchew found space before pulling his shot wide.
At the other end Kai Mahon was causing plenty of problems for Bredon and it was Mahon who opened the scoring in the 22nd minute when he got on the end Ashley Cleal’s inch perfect centre.
Cleal and Mahon combined again 10 minutes into the second half to double Andoversford’s advantage – Mahon was the scorer again as he fired home from inside the box.
Bredon never gave up and forward Liam Robinson was always prominent but Andoversford made the game safe when Kurtis Burrows curled a free-kick into the top corner.
Andoversford now wait to see who they play in the final with the second semi-final between Brockworth Albion Reserves and Tewkesbury Town being played on Thursday 18th April at Bishop’s Cleeve (7pm).
The final of the Senior Charity Cup, sponsored by CEMAR, takes place on Thursday May 9th at Cheltenham Town Football Club.Copyright © 2024 The Local Answer Limited.
