Hatherley and Reddings Hurricanes win a high-scoring thriller against Cheltenham Spartans in the Cheltenham Premier T20
Author: Roger Jackson, Posted: Wednesday, 24th June 2026, 11:00
The Cheltenham Premier T20 is the competition that keeps on giving.
Another three group matches last night and one in particular, the game at North Park between Hatherley and Reddings Hurricanes and Cheltenham Spartans, was eye-catching.
It saw 479 runs scored in the 40 overs for the loss of 11 wickets with the game going down to the final over before Hatherley pulled through by seven runs.
Harry Bloomfield top-scored for Hatherley with 68 from 31 balls in their 243-5 but their were important contributions from all the batsmen - all seven reached double figures - with Noah Bennett making 31, Vihanga Kottawasinhage 33, Tom Hage 35 and skipper Joe Price an unbeaten 31 from 13 balls.
But their impressive score looked under real threat while Mohit Kale and skipper James Boyle were piling on 91 for the second wicket in 7.2 overs in Cheltenham’s reply.
Boyle fell for 56 from 24 balls with the score on 119 but Kale went on to make 122 from 60 balls before being run out by Bloomfield from the third ball of the final over.
The result guarantees Hatherley a place in the play-offs which get under way next month, while Cheltenham, who are propping up the six-team table, must win their final two group games to have a chance of making it into the top four.
Last night’s under results: Dumbleton Dynamite 125-7 (20, Lysander Tarrant 3-20), Bourton Vale Vikings 126-2 (16.5); Charlton Super Kings 173-8 (20, Alex Oliver 3-42), Tewkesbury Royals 174-7 (19, Josh Barnes 51).
