Gloucestershire white-ball captain Jack Taylor will play for Hatherley and Reddings again next season.

The 33-year-old has featured in about half the club’s WEPL Premier 2 Glos/Wilts games in 2025 – his first season with the club – and Hatherley are hoping he will be available to play another nine or 10 games next summer.

“It’s good news,” said Sam Coote, who is director of cricket at Hatherley. “He’s been fantastic on and off the field, we’ve formed a good relationship with him.

“We’ve enjoyed having him and he’s enjoyed playing for us.”

Taylor is primarily a batsman these days, although he does bowl some leg-spin, and he has certainly played his part in a season which has seen Hatherley win seven of their league games.

“He’s got a hundred and two or three 50s,” continued Coote. “In at least two of the games he’s been instrumental in us winning.

“He’s been good in the changing room, he’s fitted in really well.”

Hatherley finished seventh in the 10-strong Premier 2 Glos/Wilts under captain Tom Hage, well clear of the bottom two.

“Maintaining our position as a Premier 2 club is really important,” added Coote. “We’re always looking to push higher up the league, our goal is to keep on improving.”

Coote also confirmed that all-rounder Hage will captain Hatherley next season, saying: “He is a key member of the club.”
