Overbury Bowling Club trio are heading to National Championships in Leamington Spa

Overbury Bowling Club are celebrating after three of their star players booked their places in the end-of-summer prestigious 2019 National Championships in Leamington Spa.

Bruce Hayward, Neil Williams and Dan Mason earned the right to rub shoulders with some of the best players in the country after booking their place in the County Triples final – they play at Gilt Edge Bowls Club in Kidderminster on Sunday.

Overbury Bowling Club vice-chairman Sandy Mace said: “This is believed to be the first time Overbury have sent a men’s team to the nationals since the club was founded in 1962.

“We are only a small club and this is a big achievement.”

The 2019 National Championships take place in August.
