On Sunday 21st July 2019, The Local Answer hosted a day at the Cheltenham Cricket Festival in the Patesians Sports & Social Club marquee in celebration of our 10th Anniversary.

We were joined by over 100 guests – customers, suppliers, contributors, friends and family – and all enjoyed a day of cricket, food, drink and laughter as we marked this special occasion.

Our first issue was 5,000 copies in March 2009 – just after the recession hit and the internet had started to flourish. And here we are 10 years later with 180,000 magazines across Gloucestershire every month and a growing online presence.

Inside the marquee was decorated with our vibrant pink logo colour, and we had a 10th Anniversary cake made especially for the day by local baker Amy of Bafford Cakes. The three-tier, branded cake looked fantastic and guests were given a slice to take away in a goody bag at the end of the day.

Throughout the day, we were treated to tea and coffee, a four-course lunch, and then afternoon tea, all supplied and served by local company Tall Order Catering. The club and catering staff were well organised and extremely attentive, making the whole day run smoothly.

Thanks to generous donations from several guests, and one customer who was unable to attend, we had a great selection of raffle prizes on offer. This helped us to raise an incredible sum of just over £1,000 for our Charity of the Year, Cobalt.

We appreciate the involvement of everyone who has, in any way, supported The Local Answer during the last 10 years.
