Albany Windows is a family-run business, which was established in 1999. With two Father and Son pairs at the helm, the company has grown significantly from one van and team of fitters to now running six vans and fittings teams.
While founding Director David Goldsby now serves as a Non-Executive Director in an advisory capacity, his son and Albany Windows’ Financial Director, Tim Goldsby, runs the business day to day alongside Peter and Nathan Knox. With a combined experience of more than 70 years in the glazing industry between Peter and David alone, Albany Windows pride themselves on completing high quality jobs at affordable prices.
The company has 15 employees covering three main departments – Installation & Service, Office Administration and Sales. They offer PVCu and aluminium windows and doors, including bi-fold, sliding patio and french doors. Other products include composite entrance doors, and solid roof or glass roof conservatory conversions.
When thinking about what sets them apart from their competitors, Tim Goldsby says: “We don’t use sub-contractors to install. We have our own trained fitting teams who only install Albany’s high standard of finish, overseen by Nathan and Peter. Our salesmen are salaried only and do not sell based on commission, so they are not incentivised to ‘hard sell’. We don’t believe in pressure selling – we give our best price first time, with no gimmicks or false discounts.”
With accreditation from some of the industry’s leading organisations, including TrustMark, FENSA and TGAS (The Glazing Arbitration Scheme), Albany Windows strive to ensure all their customers have peace of mind that they have chosen quality installers to work in their homes. As a Which? Trusted Trader, they also boast more than 370 reviews with an average score of 4.9 out of 5, demonstrating their commitment to their customers.
“We’re very proud to have received so many positive customer reviews,” explains Tim. “It shows that we’re achieving our aims of providing high quality products, service and communication to our customers.”
Outside of the showroom, Albany Windows are big supporters of their local communities. Sponsoring the Chosen Hill Former Pupils rugby team last season and fully funding the food stands at Longlevens Primary School’s fireworks display in November 2024, the company is always open to donating to worthy local causes.
They’ve even been featured on TV, as they donated and fitted a front door for the DID SOS The Big Build’s project in Charlton Kings, with Tim and his colleague Christian meeting the DIY SOS team.
Albany Windows have achieved a lot in their 26 years so far, but they’re not slowing down by any means. “Our main goal is to continue to grow whilst maintaining our reputation for quality products and services,” explains Tim. “We started offering solid conservatory roof conversions last year, and this year we will be offering Smart Locking Systems on our composite front doors so that customers can remotely lock or unlock their doors using an app on their mobile device.”
Keeping abreast of the latest technology is sure to help them achieve their growth goals, which include expanding and moving to a larger premises in the coming years.
