Established in 1989 and celebrating their 36th anniversary this year, C&L Windows and Conservatories Ltd have come a long way since the days of operating from one of the Director’s mother’s dining rooms.

With a small but hard-working team of 13 staff, including a Service Engineer, an Installation Co-ordinator and a Surveyor, the company offers a range of windows, double glazing, doors and conservatories throughout Gloucestershire and the surrounding areas. Their aim is to transform the appearance of your home, whilst providing customer service and after-care that stands out from the rest of the industry.

Sales Manager Louise Taylor-Mackay explains: “We offer value for money, and our fitters are carpenters and joiners by trade. We take our time with our installations; our fitters are not paid per window or door as some companies operate. We pay per day, so no matter what our team get done in that day, they still get the same amount, which encourages care and not haste.”

Since progressing from Director Paul Cleal’s family home, C&L moved to a small showroom on the corner of Stroud Road and Seymour Road. In 2015, they upgraded to their much bigger showroom in the old Co-op building, also on Seymour Road.

During Louise’s 14 years at the company, she has enjoyed helping the company grow from its £700,000 turnover to now surpassing £2.1 million.

“Our goal is to keep growing. We are hoping to introduce a new product to our range soon, which will be garden offices. With so many people now working from home, garden offices are becoming increasingly popular, and they are a product we are confident we can deliver to our usual high standards.”

A company like C&L couldn’t survive and thrive if they weren’t doing more than a few things right. With regular positive feedback from their customers, Louise shares that their clients are made to feel like part of the C&L family. “They appreciate our experience and that we take our time with each job. Some of our fitters have been with us for over 20 years, so there’s a familiarity and a confidence that we know what we’re doing.”

Outside of the showroom, C&L are proud to sponsor two youth football teams – Brockworth Albion and Ellwood Youth FC.
