Spring is a special time of year in the fashion world. Gone are the dull hues of winter clothes; just like our gardens, shops are bursting into life with fresh new colours and styles.

Sustainable dressing is becoming more and more popular, as is shopping for clothes at charity shops. At select locations, Marks and Spencer are launching a clothing repair service starting in August. Customers will be able to book repairs or alterations from zip replacements to knitwear.

Repairs start from £5 and allow M&S clothes to be sent off, repaired and returned within 10 days. Given the increasing demand for reusable fashion, this will be a great new service that will likely benefit our purses as well as the planet!
Here are some trends you can expect to see this season.

Colour
Spring will see a softer palette of pastel colours in various shades. Cornflower and sky blue are in, and ‘mocha mousse’ is the hit colour of the season. Offering warmth, softness and sophistication, this is a great neutral colour to add to your wardrobe this year.

If you purchase only one mocha item this year, it will blend with so many colours, from browns to paler shades. You will see a lot of knitted dresses in this hue; useful for in between spring and summer.

Soft lavender is another favourite making its way back to our wardrobes, and is flattering for most skin tones. If pastels are not for you, fear not – strong reds have also been seen on the catwalks for SS25.

Boho
This trend is still with us and going strong. Some items are very feminine and pretty; Sienna Miller’s collection flew off the shelves at M&S, so expect to see more boho-chic across the high street.

Jeans
A staple for all seasons, jeans never go out of style. Skinny jeans took a backseat last year to make way for numerous other styles from flares and boot cut to barrel jeans, but they are back, by popular demand! Marks and Spencer has a very popular animal print wide leg jean for £45 that customers are raving about. Like denim, leopard print always seems to be popular, but I imagine these will not be for everyone. H&M also offers a great selection of reasonably priced, stylish jeans.

High heels
Love them or hate them, high heels are making a comeback, with T-straps and patent being this season’s fashion trend. With many of us working from home nowadays, we may be more accustomed to the comfort of flats and trainers, saving heels for special occasions. But for those of you who love to strut their stuff in a gorgeous pair of stilettos, enjoy this resurgence!

Nails
Nail colours change with the seasons, too, so it’s no surprise that mocha mousse is leading the way for spring manicures in 2025. You will find this has led to an attractive variety of brown shades, from pale beiges to richer tans.

Blue is also popular this season, with shades from pale to very dark. Boots’ Essie Original Nail Polish in the shade ‘894 Guilty Pleasures’ will make you bang on trend and, at only £8.99, it won’t break the bank.

No matter what your colour preference, the key is to enjoy spring fashion and the new season.
