It’s time to treat your face

The new Duchess of Sussex is renowned for her fresh faced, natural look. This has sparked great interest across the globe, with many people questioning how they can achieve a similar look.
Most facial treatments will aid in the deep cleaning of our skin, which helps it to appear fresher. With so many options out there, I will try and help you decide which one might work for you. One thing to bear in mind is that our skin naturally takes three to four weeks to move through its full life cycle of skin cell growth and exfoliation.
Firstly, you need to decide what you want, which is not always easy. Do you want the therapist to concentrate on smoothing lines and wrinkles? Perhaps you’d like them to focus on removing blackheads? Or maybe you just want to relax and be pampered. Your skin might benefit from a really deep cleanse and professional exfoliation, as we can only do so much ourselves. Have a plan of what you want and that way you can avoid disappointment.
Oxygen Facial
This facial is not the new kid on the block but is a tried and tested treatment, loved by many celebrities. Madonna is a huge fan, as are Katy Perry and Justin Timberlake; most facials are good for men as well. If you want your skin to look more plumped up and glowing this might be for you.
Often used before a big event as there is no down time with this facial. Generally your therapist will give the skin a thorough cleanse and exfoliation. A common key ingredient in this treatment is hyaluronic acid (naturally contained in our skin but depletes over time) which helps to bind the moisture in our skin, making it appear firmer.
The powerful oxygen wand is skilfully sprayed all over the face and normally the neck, and is painless with a cold sensation. This is followed by a serum and/or a moisturiser depending on what your skin needs. I like this as it is not as if you need a course of facials to benefit; the results are immediate.
LED Light Therapy
LED Light Therapy facials are perfect for those who are short on time, as the treatment can be done in fifteen minutes for approximately £35 (prices and treatment lengths vary between salons). Light therapy is used to put the skin in a state
of repair and naturally boost its collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid for immediate results on the skin’s surface. LED is an effective treatment for acne and rosacea, as it strengthens the skin, helping to avoid flare-ups. This is not a luxurious, relaxing, hour-long facial, but great if you can spare fifteen minutes!
Sarah Chapman
Rumoured to be the magic hands responsible for the lovely skin of Meghan Markle, and many other famous names, Sarah’s salon is tucked away just off Sloane Square in London and offers every treatment you could ever wish for. But you don’t have to go all the way to London to benefit from these treatments, as her products are available online and you can do your own DIY facials. The overnight facial is a real winner in my opinion, and I like that Sarah shares her knowledge with every-one interested in good skin care. If you visit her website you’ll find many great tips on how to look after your skin, as well as product suggestions.
It pays to look after our skin – after all, it’s the only one we have. When our skin looks good, we feel good, so go ahead and treat yourself.Other Images
