Strong, mid length nails are still very much in style and I imagine they always will be. Although my nails are never in the best shape, I’m always envious of girls with beautifully perfect nails. It makes me a little jealous actually… Where do people find the time?!
The same effect without the hastle
One thing I’m enjoying this summer is the chrome/mirror effect nails that are presenting themselves in our stores. Models Own introduced their mirror effect nails in July and I think it’s going to change the game! Everywhere I go I see press-on nails with this mirror effect, but I just don’t have the time, patience or energy to do this myself. Am I alone? They come off when you knock them even slightly and if they don’t come off – they never come off! But now, problems are solved with this new nail polish which will give you the same effect without all the hastle.
I ask this next question hesitantly – was anyone else absolutely hooked on Love Island this year? I certainly was, and the one thing I absolutely adored was how the guys of the villa had wonderfully painted nails. Suddenly, it became apparent to me how accepting our generation has become and I felt empowered.
I feel excited in this new age that we can share whatever we like with any gender. So, for the men and women of this generation, I am going to give you a step by step guide to paint your nails perfectly, with no smudges or imperfections. Who has time to get their nails done professionally these days anyway?
1. Buy a base coat. Applying a base coat will make your nail polish last longer and will prevent nail varnish from staining your nails once you remove it.
2. Apply 3 strokes (layers). No more and no less. In doing this, you will achieve a thick enough layer to avoid streaks but not so thick that it looks clumpy and takes too long to dry.
3. Avoid quick-dry nail varnish!
4. If you want that nail salon look, apply cuticle oil to your nails to hydrate them and avoid smudges when you knock your nails accidentally.
5. Hold your hands under cold water once you’ve painted them and allowed them to dry a little. This will simply speed up the drying process.
6. When removing nail varnish, use non-acetone. This will make sure your nails don’t dry out as much in the drying process.Other Images
