Cirencester singer Noella Usborne set to release debut single

Cirencester-born singer-songwriter Noella Usborne is set to release her first ever single.

‘Unrequited’ will be released on all major music platforms on Saturday 2nd March and will see Noella take on the alt-pop genre.

“It’s influenced by the likes of Dua Lipa and Zara Larsson,” she said, “it’s a refreshing new twist on the anti-love song.”

After experimenting with her genre and style for a few years, playing at regional festivals such as Stroud Fringe and Cheltenham Jazz Festival, Noella is excited to release with what she calls “a fresh new sound”.

The single is in collaboration with the producer Sam Judd, half of the rising house duo KOMODO, and has been months in the making.

Drawing from influences such as Russian music producer Zedd and American singer-songwriter Julia Michaels, the two have created “a clean sound with somewhat brazen and unapologetic lyrics about an unfulfilling relationship”.

Noella added: “With the current saturation of the pop music market, it’s tempting for rising artists to pull out all the production gimmicks and swamp their music.

“We’ve decided to pull it all back and write a great song first and foremost, which can be heard in the minimalistic style and focus of keeping the pop pure.”
